Ecuador military seizes weapons, drugs and prohibited items in Manabí prison
The Ecuadorian Armed Forces, using the Grupo de Tarea 100.21, carried out a security operation at the Centro de Rehabilitación Social Masculino Manabí No. 3 in Bahía de Caráquez. The raid resulted in the arrest of three inmates and the confiscation of numerous prohibited items, including 28 mobile phones, 30 charger cables, 28 chargers, 25 doses of marijuana, seven bladed weapons, two sexual‑toy devices and a range of other contraband such as pipe‑heads, headphones, lighters, gasoline containers and cigarette boxes. The seized items were taken into custody according to established protocols for interventions in correctional facilities. The operation is part of the armed forces' ongoing efforts to prevent the entry and storage of illegal goods in Ecuador’s social rehabilitation centers.
