Ecuador invests in school infrastructure projects in Zamora and Riobamba
The Ecuadorian government has launched several infrastructure projects to improve educational facilities across different regions. In the Zamora canton, the Ministry of Education has begun a USD 80,000 remodeling project at the Luis Felipe Borja Educational Unit. This work includes reconstructing the perimeter fence, installing metal roofing over two classroom blocks, and performing facade maintenance to benefit over 430 students.
In the Riobamba-Chambo district, the Carlos Cisneros Educational Unit has commenced the construction of nine new classrooms to mark the start of the 2026-2027 academic year. This project is part of a broader investment exceeding one million dollars within the district aimed at addressing long-standing infrastructure needs.
These initiatives are part of a larger national plan to modernize schools, which includes significant funding for school uniform kits and furniture across the provinces.
