Separately, the government confirmed that Monday August 10, 2026, will be observed as a mandatory national holiday commemorating the First Cry of Independence. The day is non‑recoverable, and workers who must work on that date are entitled to a 100 % overtime premium under the Labor Code. Public services such as water, electricity, health, and emergency responders will remain operational, while other sectors may observe the holiday according to local regulations.
