Ecuador launches fourth phase of Jóvenes en Acción program
The Ecuadorian government has concluded the selection process for 700,000 young people, aged 18 to 29, to participate in the fourth phase of the ‘Jóvenes en Acción’ program. Scheduled to begin on November 4, the initiative provides paid internships within public institutions and private companies to help participants gain their first professional experiences.
President Daniel Noboa announced that the government will allocate $560 million to this phase. In a departure from previous iterations, the administration will advance the scheduled payments. The first installment of $400 per participant is expected to be deposited by October 30, with a second payment scheduled for November 27, 2026. These funds are intended to cover expenses such as transportation and food.
The program will involve several government entities, including the ministries of Health, Education, and Infrastructure, among others. Additionally, the fourth phase incorporates the private sector through agreements with various industrial chambers and companies to expand practical learning opportunities.
