Argentina completes nationwide flu vaccine rollout, adds regional production

Minister of Health Mario Lugones announced that the Argentine Ministry of Health has completed the planned distribution of seasonal influenza vaccines to every province, achieving 100 % coverage of the allocated doses. He added that additional vaccine units for adults were sent in response to requests from provincial authorities to strengthen protection against the rising flu season.

Lugones also confirmed a new agreement that will allow Argentina to manufacture and supply flu vaccines to Latin America and the Caribbean. The partnership involves local biotech firm Sinergium Biotech, international pharmaceutical CSL Seqirus, and the Pan American Health Organization. Production will take place at a plant in Garín, Buenos Aires, with regional distribution managed through the PAHO revolving fund.
