Ecuador names new provincial judiciary directors for Imbabura and Loja

On 30 July 2026 the Pleno of the Consejo de la Judicatura appointed Andrea Estefanía Chica Campuzano as Director Provincial of Imbabura. Chica Campuzano is a lawyer with a master’s degree in Notarial and Registral Law, 12 years of legal practice and more than five years in public‑sector management. She said she assumes the role with a “deep sense of responsibility and commitment to the citizenry” and will work to strengthen institutional management and transparent service.

On 5 August 2026 the same council designated Luis Guillermo Gordillo Córdova as Director Provincial of Loja. Gordillo Córdova holds a doctorate in Jurisprudence, a master’s in Criminal Sciences and has spent 18 years in the Fiscalía General del Estado, including as secretary of prosecutors in Zamora Chinchipe. He will lead the administrative management of the judiciary in Loja. Both appointments replace interim directors—Jaime Alvear Flores in Imbabura and Adriano Loján Zumba in Loja—signalling the council’s effort to reinforce judicial administration in the provinces.
