Ecuador Offers 50% Discount on Driver’s License Renewal for Clean‑Record Drivers

Ecuador’s National Transit Agency (ANT) will apply a 50 % discount on driver’s licence renewal fees for motorists who have kept a perfect 30‑point record and incurred no traffic infractions during the five‑year validity of their licence. The reduction is automatic when the payment order is generated on the ANT portal, requiring no additional application.

Under the discount, a standard B‑class licence drops from US$68 to US$34, while a professional licence falls from US$110 to US$55. Payments can be made at Banco Pichincha, Banco del Pacífico, Produbanco, Banco Guayaquil, Banco Bolivariano, or via online channels using the driver’s ID or vehicle plate. The programme is part of the recent traffic‑law reform and runs alongside a deadline for settling pre‑August 9 2021 traffic fines by 1 August 2026, after which unpaid fines will be blocked and collection procedures initiated.
