Ecuador opens collection points for aid to earthquake‑hit Venezuela

The Ecuadorian government announced the opening of official humanitarian collection centers to support families affected by the June 24, 2026 earthquakes in Venezuela, which have caused 1,430 deaths and 3,238 injuries. The centers operate from 08:00 to 18:00 in universities and public facilities across eight provinces, including the University of Cuenca (Azuay), Technical University of Manabí (Manabí), University of Guayaquil (Guayas), Technical University of Machala (El Oro), State University of Santa Elena (Santa Elena), Andean University Simón Bolívar and the Army Engineering School (Pichincha), the Polytechnic School of Chimborazo (Chimborazo), and the SNGR Coordination in Pastaza.

Donors are asked to provide only listed items such as bottled water, non‑perishable food, clothing, blankets, hygiene products, mattresses, mosquito nets, and basic medical supplies, and to avoid glass containers. Contributions should be packed in sturdy cardboard boxes, clearly marked, and delivered to the designated sites for classification and onward shipment to the most affected areas in Venezuela.
