Ecuador police seize firearms and arrest five Los Águilas gang members in Guayas
The Judicial Police’s Guayas Subzone conducted Operation “Intervención GDO 090” in the Virgen de Fátima circuit, targeting the organized crime group Los Águilas. The raid recovered a firearm, 24 cartridges and four mobile phones and resulted in the arrest of five suspects: Livinton Esmely C. Ch., David Isaías G. M., Marco Antonio T. B., Jhon Leider C. P., and Rolando Gabriel C. M., ages 18‑24. The operation is part of the 3D Operational Strategy aimed at weakening, disorganizing and dismantling criminal structures and reducing crimes that affect public safety. The seized evidence was sent to the police evidence center for forensic analysis, and the detainees were placed at the disposal of the competent authority for legal processing. The National Police of Ecuador said it will continue focused interventions to remove illegal firearms from circulation and strengthen citizen protection.
