Ecuador prepares for major 2026 book fairs and festivals
Ecuador is preparing for several major cultural and entertainment events in 2026. In Quito, the International Book Fair (FIL Quito) is scheduled for September 30 to October 4 at the Quito Exhibition Center. The event will feature approximately 190 exhibitors and over 45 writers and professionals, including international guests such as Guillermo Arriaga and Andrés Neuman. Admission to the fair is free.
Guayaquil will host the 12th International Book Fair from September 16 to 20 at the Guayaquil Convention Center. Under the theme ‘Vuelve a Coincidir’, the event expects 40,000 visitors and will include immersive literary tributes, workshops, and guest authors like Jaime Bayly and Walter Riso.
Additionally, the ‘La Mamá de las Ferias’ festival will take place from October 8 to 11 at the Estadio Modelo Alberto Spencer in Guayaquil. The event coincides with the Guayaquil Independence holiday and features musical performances by artists such as Fonseca, Olga Tañón, and El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico. Tickets start at $10, and the festival expects up to 60,000 daily attendees.
