Ecuador promotes exporters in New York and hosts McKinsey growth forum
Fourteen Ecuadorian companies participated in the Summer Fancy Food Show 2026 in New York from June 28‑30, showcasing products such as banana snacks, superfoods, tuna, chocolates, sauces and plant‑based items. The delegation was supported by the Ministry of Production, Pro Ecuador and the Ecuadorian Exporters Federation (Fedexpor). At the opening ceremony, Consul Gicela Andrade, commercial counselor Juan Pablo Cuesta and Fedexpor executive Xavier Rosero emphasized that the fair offers a strategic platform to strengthen export access to the U.S. market.
A few days later, Quito and Guayaquil hosted the first McKinsey Forum in Ecuador, bringing together the country’s leading business leaders. McKinsey presented optimistic growth scenarios for Ecuador, citing 2025 performance slightly above the Latin‑American average and highlighting the agro‑industry, fisheries and mining sectors as drivers of employment, dollarisation and foreign‑exchange earnings. The forum stressed the need for increased private investment and a stable state role in security, education, health and job creation, while acknowledging ongoing challenges in security, investment volatility and political stability.
