Ecuador recognizes women leaders for their professional legacy
The Chamber of Commerce of Quito (CCQ) and its Violet Council organized the “Mujeres que Transforman Ecuador – Reconocimiento Nacional 2026” event. During the central panel, “De la trayectoria al legado: mujeres que construyen país,” several prominent women discussed their professional journeys and the barriers they faced.
CCQ President Mónica Heller noted that while more women are leading companies, universities, and institutions than in previous decades, cultural barriers and heavy social expectations remain. Panelists including Gladys Eljuri, Lourdes Tibán, Janet Hinostroza, and Cristina Hidalgo shared insights from their respective fields in business, politics, journalism, and education regarding the challenges and opportunities encountered while building their careers.
