Ecuador reports record non-oil exports through August 2026
Ecuador's non-oil exports reached a record USD 20.151 billion between January and August 2026, representing a 5.2% increase in value compared to the same period in 2025. According to the Central Bank of Ecuador, export volume also rose by 6.7%, totaling 9.68 million metric tons. This marks the highest performance for the January-August period within the 2017-2026 data series.
Animal feed emerged as a significant growth sector, with exports rising 94.2% to USD 87.8 million. Peru was the primary destination for these products, accounting for USD 33.5 million, followed by the United States and Panama.
In a separate commercial effort, the Ecuadorian Federation of Exporters (Fedexpor) organized the III Xconnect 2026 B2B Business Round in Guayaquil and Quito. Approximately 100 Ecuadorian companies met with over 20 international buyers from 11 countries, including Canada, the United States, Spain, France, and Italy. These negotiations, focused on non-traditional food products such as fruit pulps, cacao derivatives, and coffee, aim to secure approximately USD 20 million in sales.
