Ecuadorian Army announces 2027 specialist recruitment

The Ecuadorian Army will begin its 2027 recruitment process for specialist officers and troops on October 5, 2026. The call is open to both men and women who hold professional degrees in specific fields required by the institution.

For officer training at the Escuela Superior Militar Eloy Alfaro (Esmil) in Quito, vacancies include specialties in health (general practitioners, dentists, and clinical psychologists), law (lawyers), and administration (finance engineers, economists, and business administrators). Specialist troop training will take place at the Escuela de Formación de Soldados del Ejército (Esforse) in Ambato.

Applicants must be Ecuadorian citizens. The age limit is 29 years, 11 months, and 30 days, though this is extended to 35 years for those with a postgraduate degree. Candidates must also have at least two years of documented work experience and must not have been discharged from active service in the Armed Forces or National Police. Minimum height requirements are set at 1.60 meters for men and 1.55 meters for women, measured without footwear. The selection process includes medical, physical, academic, psychological, and trust evaluations.
