Ecuadorian bishops meet in Puyo to discuss Church matters

Bishops from the Ecuadorian Episcopal Conference held their 65th Ordinary Assembly in Puyo, Pastaza province. During the meeting, prelates analyzed topics including marriage, catechesis, and the Church's response to potential emergencies caused by the El Niño phenomenon.

Cardinal Luis Cabrera noted that the assembly also addressed the health of Pope Leo IV, who is reportedly recovering from surgery. The gathering also served to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the priestly ordination of Monsignor Rafael Cob García, the Apostolic Vicar of Puyo, who highlighted the Church's historical contributions to the development of the Pastaza region.

In addition to religious matters, the assembly included visits to local sites such as the Canelos parish and the Museum of Faith to review the history of missionary work in the Amazonian province.
