Ecuadorian businesses face high logistics costs amid appliance market growth
Ecuadorian businesses are facing significant logistical challenges, with the National Logistics Survey revealing that logistics costs account for an average of 17.9% of total sales. There is a notable disparity based on company size: large enterprises allocate approximately 7.68% of sales to logistics, whereas small businesses face much higher costs of 26.4%.
Simultaneously, the appliance market in Ecuador is showing signs of sustained recovery. According to the Association of Appliance Stores of Ecuador (Asadelec), the sector has seen an average sales growth of 8.6% through August 2026. This growth is driven by increased capital investment and brand expansion. Within the sector, white goods lead in billing, followed by motorcycles and televisions.
