Ecuadorian companies receive 2026 Socially Responsible Company distinction
Eighty-six companies in Ecuador have been awarded the 2026 Distintivo ESR (Socially Responsible Company) recognition. The distinction is granted by CERES, in partnership with the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI), to organizations that demonstrate responsible management through environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria.
Lowell Mineral Exploration Ecuador S.A., a subsidiary of Solaris Resources Inc. and operator of the Warintza Project, received the award for the second consecutive year. The company reported significant local engagement, noting that 75.2% of its 315 direct employees reside in the project's immediate area of influence. Additionally, the company engaged 487 suppliers from the Morona Santiago province, with payments totaling approximately USD 17.17 million during the analyzed period.
MC Group also earned the Distintivo ESR for the second time. CEO Mercedes Córdova stated that the recognition motivates the company to continue strengthening its practical application of corporate responsibility and its impact on teams and communities.
