Ecuadorian courts issue sentences for drug trafficking and robbery

In Ecuador, judicial authorities have handed down sentences for drug trafficking and robbery in separate cases.

A man identified as Juan S. was sentenced to 19 years in prison for illicit drug trafficking in Jipijapa. Following a police raid on a residence in the Alberto Heredia neighborhood, authorities discovered 190 grams of cocaine base and 3 grams of heroin, along with cash and other evidence.

In Riobamba, four individuals—Neilwill Cristopher B. M., Ángel Luis M. S., Ángel José C. P., and Frank Reinaldo R. R.—received sentences of nine years and four months for robbery. The case involved the armed robbery of a gas delivery driver, during which the victim was tied up and his truck, carrying 50 gas cylinders, was stolen.
