Ecuadorian Cyclist Richard Carapaz Secures Second Place at Tour de Suisse

Ecuadorian rider Richard Carapaz finished seventh on the final stage of the Tour de Suisse but retained second place overall, behind Slovenian champion Tadej Pogačar, who won the stage and the general classification. The five‑day race concluded in Villars‑sur‑Ollon, with Pogačar attacking on the last climb and extending his lead.

Carapaz praised the effort, saying, “I’m very happy. I think it has been a good test for me,” after confirming his position ahead of the Tour de France. He highlighted the preparation done in Ecuador and expressed confidence that the performance will boost his form for the upcoming Grand Tour.
