Ecuadorian families and Spanish households urged to strengthen emergency savings and insurance

In Ecuador, a recent Equifax Ecuador financial education survey shows one in five Ecuadorians did not save last year, and those who do typically accumulate up to $2,000 annually. Eduardo Román, vice‑president of Finance and Risks at Equisuiza, says that financial planning must combine saving with appropriate insurance to protect assets against medical emergencies, income loss or property damage.

Financial experts in Spain stress the need for an emergency fund covering three to six months of basic expenses and recommend budgeting, expense audits and preventive maintenance. They also point to fintech solutions such as Moneyman, an online loan platform that provides rapid liquidity for unexpected household costs.
