Ecuadorian footballers Djorkaeff Reasco and Romario Ibarra face different career stages

Djorkaeff Reasco has expressed his ambition to return to the Ecuadorian national team following a strong season with Independiente del Valle. The 27-year-old forward has scored 12 goals in 35 matches, citing his experiences in Argentina and with Liga de Quito as key factors in his professional maturity. Reasco, who previously appeared in the 2022 World Cup, stated that returning to ‘La Tri’ is his primary short-term goal.

In contrast, Romario Ibarra is struggling to find form with Deportivo Cuenca. The 32-year-old winger, a former national team player, has yet to record a goal or assist in 13 LigaPro matches. His performance has been hindered by muscular injuries and limited playing time, totaling only 446 minutes. Ibarra is currently working to improve his physical condition to meet the expectations set during his signing.
