Ecuadorian forces seize armed Los Lagartos suspect in Guayaquil

Ecuadorian armed forces captured a man linked to the Los Lagartos criminal organization during an operation in the Juan Montalvo district of Guayaquil. Intelligence gathered with the National Intelligence Center led troops to the Pastor Vera cooperative, where a raid uncovered a pistol, ammunition and four chargers. The suspect was taken into custody and handed over to judicial authorities for prosecution.

The operation was presented as a blow to the group’s firepower and operational capacity, according to the military statement.
