Ecuadorian government launches new academic term for 30,000 students
The Ecuadorian government, through the Ministry of Education, Sport, and Culture (MINEDEC), has commenced the second academic period of 2026 across 54 public institutes and conservatories. The new cycle involves more than 30,000 students and approximately 3,000 teachers.
A total of 600 careers are being offered across various modalities and schedules. High-demand fields include Early Childhood Education, Accounting, Automotive Mechanics, Software Development, and Electricity. The program aims to align academic training with the needs of the national productive sector.
Additionally, 33 public institutes are offering 92 careers through a dual modality, which integrates classroom learning with practical experience in companies. The initiative is part of President Daniel Noboa’s administration efforts to expand access to public higher education through increased quotas, higher budgets, and free leveling courses.
