Ecuadorian Health Minister inspects hospitals in Tungurahua and Cotopaxi

Ecuadorian Minister of Public Health, Juan Carlos Aveiga, conducted a working visit to the provinces of Tungurahua and Cotopaxi to inspect the operational status and quality of healthcare services.

During his visit to the Hospital General Docente Ambato, which serves approximately 800 patients daily, Aveiga verified that the supply of medicines and medical supplies exceeds 70%. He also reviewed emergency services, imaging, dialysis, nutrition, and pharmacy departments, noting the implementation of security protocols to protect healthcare personnel.

Additionally, the Minister visited the ECU 911 center in Ambato to meet with provincial and cantonal authorities. The meeting focused on evaluating emergency triage management for the provinces of Tungurahua, Cotopaxi, and Pastaza, as well as coordinating response flows between different institutions.
