Ecuadorian Legislative Council qualifies nine new bills

The Legislative Administration Council (CAL), led by National Assembly President Mishel Mancheno, has qualified nine new bill projects for processing. These initiatives cover various sectors including criminal law, education, health, and food sovereignty.

In the justice sector, the Commission of Justice and State Structure will address reforms to the Comprehensive Organic Criminal Code (COIP) and a project for the protection of biodiversity and natural resources. The health sector will review proposals regarding the procurement of innovative medicines and safeguards against conflicts of interest in voluntary euthanasia cases.

Additionally, the Commission of Food Sovereignty will handle bills related to agricultural product transparency and the sustainability of agricultural, aquaculture, and fishing production. The Commission of Education will process a project aimed at protecting school environments and ensuring student permanence in the national education system.
