Ecuadorian Vice President promotes agrifood leadership in Rome
Ecuadorian Vice President María José Pinto is participating in the World Food Forum 2026 in Rome, representing President Daniel Noboa. Her agenda focuses on strengthening international cooperation, promoting investment, and establishing strategic alliances to improve food security and child nutrition.
During the forum, Pinto highlighted the role of women in the agrifood value chain. She noted that through initiatives such as Agro Violeta and Emprende Violeta, more than 2,000 women have accessed over USD 7 million in financing this year to bolster their economic autonomy. Pinto emphasized that empowering women economically contributes to community well-being and helps prevent chronic childhood malnutrition.
