Ecuadorian youths to attend World Food Forum in Rome
Two Ecuadorian youths, representing the Manabí and Pichincha regions, will participate in the 2026 World Food Forum in Rome, Italy. The participants, aged between 21 and 25, are part of an international delegation of 10 young people from Ecuador, Colombia, Indonesia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Carlos Adrián Peña Ponce, a 23-year-old from Pedro Vicente, Manabí, will represent the country. His involvement stems from his training in sustainable agri-food systems through the Urban Futures program and his work with the Manpanor Youth Leaders Network in the Sucre and San Vicente cantons.
The forum, hosted at the FAO headquarters from October 8 to 16, aims to facilitate the exchange of experiences regarding food systems and territorial initiatives. The Ecuadorian delegation is scheduled to participate from October 12 to 16, focusing on sustainable production, responsible consumption, and economic opportunities for youth.
