Ecuador's 15th National Cheese Fair to feature 120‑kg Gouda

The XV Feria Nacional del Queso will take place in Cayambe, Ecuador, from 8 to 10 August 2026 at the Centro de Convenciones El Molino. The three‑day event expects about 12,000 visitors and will host 80 exhibitors showcasing more than 200 gourmet products and over 50 varieties of Ecuadorian cheese.

A highlight of the fair is a 120‑kilogram Gouda, promoted as the country’s largest mature cheese. The program includes technical talks, tastings and the XI Concurso del Mejor Queso del Ecuador, aimed at strengthening the national dairy chain.

According to the Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censos, Ecuador produced 5.2 million litres of milk per day in 2025, with 4 million litres from the Sierra region. The fair seeks to promote value‑added dairy products and expand market opportunities for local producers.
