Ecuador's Doménica Mata heads to Mini Universo 2026 as Miss Universo Ecuador Nadia Mejía bows out

Ten‑year‑old Doménica Mata, crowned Mini Reina del Ecuador 2024 and holder of titles such as Mini Reina de Pasaje 2025‑2026 and Mini Model World 2025, will represent Ecuador at the Mini Universo 2026 competition in Cartagena, Colombia, scheduled for 22‑28 June. Her preparation includes runway training, cultural presentation and participation in solidarity projects.

At the same time, reigning Miss Universo Ecuador Nadia Mejía is concluding her term and will hand over the crown at the Miss Universo Ecuador 2026 gala on 15 August in Santa Elena. Mejía has spent her final weeks on official engagements across the coastal canton, the Galápagos and local schools, promoting her "Soy suficiente" social campaign. The national contest will feature 27 candidates, with an official presentation set for the second week of July.
