Schneider Electric says reliable energy is essential for Peru's business continuity
Schneider Electric stresses that dependable electricity is critical for the uninterrupted operation of mines, industrial plants, corporate buildings and data centres in Peru. A power outage can halt production lines, damage sensitive equipment and delay daily operations. Victor Paredes, Director of Power System for Schneider Electric’s Andean South Cluster, warned that “operational continuity no longer depends only on having electricity, but on knowing how the energy is arriving, how loads behave and what signals the infrastructure is giving before a possible fault.”
The commentary notes that Peru’s national production rose 3.73 % in April 2026 and 3.58 % from January to April, with the commerce, construction, other services and manufacturing sectors accounting for 66 % of the economy and manufacturing growing 2.17 % in the same month. Mining exports from January to November 2025 reached roughly US$55.447 billion, a 23.4 % increase over the previous year. Schneider Electric argues that continuous monitoring of voltage variations, overloads, harmonics, micro‑interruptions and imbalances is needed to move from reactive to proactive power management.
