Ecuador's Vuelta al Rally 2026 kicks off with 40 cars across seven provinces
The 47th edition of the Vuelta al Ecuador de Rally begins on 1 August 2026 with around 40 vehicles and 80 competitors. The rally will run over five stages through seven provinces—El Oro, Loja, Azuay, Cañar, Chimborazo, Tungurahua and Imbabura—concluding on 8 August at the Yahuarcocha International Autodrome in Imbabura.
Organised by the Federación Ecuatoriana de Automovilismo y Kartismo Deportivo (FEDAK), the event introduces a new SUV category and tighter safety protocols. A president of the College of Commissioners with FIA experience will oversee compliance with international technical standards, a response to the serious accident that occurred in the 2025 edition in Tungurahua. Among the entrants is a team of Ecuadorian residents from the United States returning to compete in one of the country's most traditional motorsport contests.
