Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew celebrates 35 years on the throne

The Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople marked the 35th anniversary of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew's election to the Apostolic and Ecumenical Throne. Celebrations held at the Phanar and in Istanbul included religious ceremonies, cultural tributes, and gatherings of international clergy and dignitaries.

Greek Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni issued a statement honoring the Patriarch's spiritual and cultural contributions, noting his role in preserving Hellenic identity and his international recognition as a ‘Green Patriarch’ for his environmental advocacy.

Representatives from various regions participated in the commemorations. The Holy Archdiocese of Australia organized a dedicated event in Istanbul to express gratitude, while Archbishop Elpidophoros of America visited the Phanar to reaffirm the bond between the American Archdiocese and the Mother Church, highlighting the Patriarch's work in Orthodox unity and interfaith dialogue.
