Ecurio magazine to release special issue on Intellectual Property

The criticism magazine Ecurio will release its 17th volume on November 8, 2026, featuring a special theme titled “IP: The Ecosystem of Modern Culture.” The issue aims to examine the mechanisms and cultural impacts of Intellectual Property (IP) as it becomes a central principle in contemporary society.

Content includes an interview with Tsumu Kawada of the development unit AR San Kyodai regarding the expansion of IP, alongside various critiques. These essays explore diverse subjects such as VTubers, the “Chiikawa pandemic,” and the materialism of Evangelion. The publication also features ten columns exploring the frontiers of IP through lenses such as character design, landscape, and cultural assets.
