Eczacıbaşı Spor Kulübü President reflects on 60 years of sports culture

Faruk Eczacıbaşı, President of Eczacıbaşı Spor Kulübü, reflected on the club’s 60-year history and its role in the development of Turkish volleyball. In a recent interview, he highlighted that the international success of Turkish volleyball is the result of long-term collective effort involving players, clubs, federations, and spectators.

Eczacıbaşı noted that while the club has historically participated in various branches including men’s volleyball, basketball, chess, and table tennis, it eventually focused on women’s volleyball as a social mission. This decision aimed to promote values such as teamwork, friendship, and health, while strengthening the position of women in Turkish society and sports.

The club’s journey has spanned several locations, moving from Levent to Ayazağa, and currently operating out of its sports hall in Kartal.
