Ed Boon responds to Street Fighter cast's crossover requests

Ed Boon, co-creator of Mortal Kombat and head of NetherRealm Studios, has responded to requests from the cast of the upcoming Street Fighter live-action film regarding a cinematic crossover between the two fighting game franchises.

During promotional activities for the new film, actors including Andrew Koji (Ryu), Noah Centineo (Ken), and Mel Jarnson (Cammy) expressed enthusiasm for a collaboration that would bring the characters of Capcom and Warner Bros. together on screen.

Boon addressed the speculation on social media with the message, “First the game… then the movie.” While the cast has voiced interest in a major showdown between the iconic warriors, a crossover remains difficult due to differences in brand identity, specifically the contrast between Mortal Kombat’s explicit violence and Street Fighter’s more stylized approach.
