Ed Case wins Hawaii Democratic primary against progressive challenger

In the Hawaii Democratic primaries, incumbent U.S. Representative Ed Case secured a victory against progressive challenger Jarrett Keohokalole. Case, a 73-year-old moderate, received 57% of the vote compared to Keohokalole's 34%. The contest highlighted internal tensions within the Democratic Party between veteran centrist lawmakers and younger, left-wing newcomers.

Keohokalole had criticized Case's corporate campaign contributions and his support for the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act. In response, Case emphasized his seniority on a key spending committee, arguing that his reelection is vital for maintaining federal funding for Hawaii.

In other Hawaii races, incumbent U.S. Representative Jill Tokuda won her Democratic primary with 84% of the vote, and Governor Josh Green also defeated several challengers to secure his nomination.
