Ed Gamble addresses unconscious bias claims on Celebrity Traitors

Ed Gamble, host of the reality competition series Traitors and its aftershow Uncloaked, has responded to discussions regarding unconscious racial and cultural bias on the program. The conversation follows the early elimination of actor Myha’la from the celebrity edition of the show.

While Myha’la defended her fellow contestants, stating they did not consciously target her due to her race, she acknowledged that unconscious bias can influence social deduction games. She noted that her communication styles and expressions might appear suspicious to those unfamiliar with her background. Myha’la suggested that while a playful wink toward Richard E. Grant may have contributed to her exit, the broader issue of bias remains a valid topic for discussion.

Gamble stated in an interview with The Guardian that he would not counteract anyone’s lived experience and emphasized that the issue of bias is something that needs to be examined.
