Ed Matthews sentenced to 12 weeks in prison

Ed Matthews, a 24-year-old British social media personality and live streamer, has been sentenced to 12 weeks in custody. Matthews, who appeared in the Netflix documentary ‘Inside the Manosphere’, appeared at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on August 19 following breaches of a community order.

The community order was originally imposed by Willesden Magistrates’ Court in relation to an assault by beating in the London Borough of Barnet in June 2024. Matthews admitted to failing to comply with the order's requirements, specifically missing probation appointments in June and July without reasonable excuse.

Magistrates revoked the community order and imposed the custodial sentence, citing Matthews’ “wilful and persistent non-compliance.” Court records indicated he had not been in contact with probation since January 2026 and had completed minimal unpaid work hours.
