Ed Sheeran announces new opening acts for Loop Tour
Ed Sheeran has announced new opening acts for the remaining United States dates of his Loop Tour. Isaac Slade, former lead singer of The Fray, and American Idol contestant Brooks Rosser will join the lineup.
The reshuffle follows a significant controversy after rapper Macklemore was removed from the tour following pro-Palestine remarks made during performances in New Jersey. Following Macklemore's exit, several other supporting artists—including Finneas, Lukas Graham, and the band Beoga—withdrew from the tour in solidarity.
Reports indicate that stadium operators, including New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, pressured the tour to remove Macklemore. Sheeran addressed the situation in Philadelphia, stating he was not the one who made the decision to remove the rapper and expressing his own distress over the conflict in Gaza.
Slade is scheduled to perform in Indianapolis, Charlotte, Arlington, and Tampa. Rosser will join the Indianapolis show at Lucas Oil Stadium. Some upcoming Florida dates will proceed without opening acts due to the venues being casinos.
