Ed Sheeran faces backlash after Macklemore is removed from Loop Tour

Musician Ed Sheeran has faced significant backlash following the removal of rapper Macklemore from his Loop Tour. The decision followed Macklemore’s on-stage calls for a “free Palestine,” which led to Sheeran losing approximately 500,000 social media followers and experiencing a decline in ticket sales. Other opening acts also reportedly dropped out of the tour in solidarity with Macklemore.

In a related development at Gillette Stadium, country musician Zach Bryan set a new attendance record for the venue with 73,538 people during his With Heaven on Tour. Bryan performed while wearing a shirt featuring the phrase “Free Palestine.” This event follows recent tension at the stadium, where owner Robert Kraft reportedly threatened to pull the venue from Sheeran’s tour if Macklemore performed after making pro-Palestinian remarks.
