Ed Sheeran fined £666 for uninsured classic Aston Martin

British singer‑songwriter Ed Sheeran was convicted at Bradford Magistrates' Court for keeping his 1966 Aston Martin DB6 uninsured while it was being restored and converted to an electric vehicle. The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency identified the lack of insurance in December 2025. Sheeran pleaded guilty, stating he believed the workshop’s motor‑trade insurance covered the car and that he never had physical possession of the vehicle, which remained at Aston Workshop Ltd in Durham and never drove on public roads.

The court ordered a £666 fine, £100 in costs and a £266 victim surcharge, processing the case under the Single Justice Procedure. Sheeran also noted the car was later declared off‑road (SORN) on 1 February. He apologized for using court resources and said he would have paid an out‑of‑court penalty had he been informed of it.
