Eda Kaya wins Fig Flavor Competition in Germencik

Eda Kaya won first place at the Fig Flavor Competition held during the 22nd Germencik Fig Festival in Aydın. Competing with her dessert titled ‘İncirin Altın Tahtı’ (The Golden Throne of Fig), the 20-year-old Kaya received a perfect score from the jury.

Kaya noted that she arrived at the competition just in time after finishing work, preparing her dish in approximately 10 minutes. Yasemin Erdoğan secured second place, while Anıl Ayvaz took third. Prizes included full, half, and quarter gold coins, respectively.

The event, organized by the Germencik Municipality, aimed to promote the local fig industry. This year's competition was held in memory of the late pita master Kazım Tütüncüoğlu. Germencik Mayor Burak Zencirci presented the awards and announced plans to build a park in memory of both Kazım Tütüncüoğlu and his wife.
