Eddie 9V releases reimagined version of 1974 hit ‘Rock Your Baby’

Atlanta-based singer, songwriter, and guitarist Eddie 9V has released a reimagined version of the 1974 hit ‘Rock Your Baby’. Originally a disco track by George McCrae that topped charts in the United States and United Kingdom, the new version transforms the song into a Southern soul and blues track.

Produced by Grammy winner Dan Auerbach, the single was recorded live at Easy Eye Sound Studio in Nashville. The track features a deep groove and slide guitar influences inspired by Duane Allman. This release serves as a precursor to Eddie 9V’s upcoming album, ‘Down Here’, which is scheduled for release on November 6 via Easy Eye Sound.

Eddie 9V described the recording process as being pushed out of his comfort zone, noting that the band learned the song in approximately twenty minutes before recording it live in the studio.
