Eddie Murphy to star in Matthew Weiner drama series ‘The Chairman’

Eddie Murphy is set to star in the upcoming television drama series ‘The Chairman’, marking a significant shift in his career from comedy to serialized drama. This project represents Murphy’s first regular role in a television production in over four decades.

The series is created by Matthew Weiner, the nine-time Emmy winner known for producing ‘Mad Men’ and ‘The Sopranos’. The production is a collaboration between 101 Studios and Universal Television. While specific plot details remain confidential, the project is expected to showcase a more complex, psychological side of the actor, who rose to fame through ‘Saturday Night Live’ and major film franchises.
