Eddie Nketiah nears international switch to Ghana
Crystal Palace forward Eddie Nketiah is reportedly nearing a switch in international allegiance from England to Ghana. Documentation is being prepared for submission to FIFA to formalize the move, which would allow the 27-year-old to represent the Black Stars through his family heritage.
Nketiah remains eligible for a change of association because his sole senior appearance for England occurred in a non-competitive friendly against Australia in October 2023. While he was a prolific scorer for England’s youth teams, including becoming their all-time leading Under-21 scorer, he has not played for the senior Three Lions side since his debut.
The Ghana Football Association has long pursued the striker, following the successful recruitment of other dual-nationality players like Inaki Williams. If approved by FIFA, the move would bolster Ghana’s attacking options ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
