Edeka and Marktkauf recall frozen blueberries due to Salmonella risk

Edeka and Marktkauf have issued a nationwide recall in Germany for certain packages of frozen blueberries due to potential Salmonella contamination. The manufacturer, Jütro Tiefkühlkost GmbH & Co. KG, warned that individual packages may contain the bacteria, posing a health risk.

Salmonella infection can cause flu-like symptoms, including fever, headaches, and vomiting or diarrhea. Pregnant women, young children, and individuals with weakened immune systems are noted to be at higher risk for severe illness.

Consumers are strongly advised not to consume the affected products. Affected packages can be returned to the place of purchase even without a receipt.
