Eden Prairie shooting suspect arrested after homecoming game disruption

An 18-year-old suspect, Adam Abdihakeem Adam of St. Louis Park, has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred during the Eden Prairie homecoming football game. Eden Prairie police identified Adam as the shooter, and he was taken into custody in Minneapolis. He is currently held at the Hennepin County Jail on probable cause for second-degree assault.

The shooting took place in the high school parking lot following an altercation near Aerie Stadium, which forced an immediate evacuation of the game. Authorities stated the incident was related to Somali gang activity and resulted in injuries to an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old.

Following the postponement, the football game between Eden Prairie and Minnetonka resumed on Monday. The Eagles completed the contest, securing their fifth consecutive win. School officials expressed gratitude for the community's response to the incident.
