EDENORTE powers 207 homes in Restauración and removes 1,500 lb of waste from Puerto Plata beach

EDENORTE Dominicana, together with the Ministry of Energy and Mines, completed an electrification project in Cruz de Cabrera, municipality of Restauración, Dajabón. The RD$14.7 million investment installed 255 concrete poles, 9.5 km of primary medium‑voltage line, 7.1 km of secondary distribution, ten transformers and 156 street‑lighting fixtures. The work now supplies continuous electricity to 207 households and commercial establishments, improving safety, commerce and educational opportunities in the border community.

In a separate CSR initiative, EDENORTE’s “Manos que Iluminan” volunteers organized a beach‑cleanup at Los Castillitos in Puerto Plata. Sixty‑five volunteers, including employees and their children, collected roughly 1,500 lb (≈680 kg) of solid waste from a 1,200‑meter stretch of shoreline, removing plastic cups, food containers, bottles and other debris. Provincial Environment Ministry representative Frank Calderón and CSR manager José Luis Ferreira highlighted the event’s role in promoting environmental stewardship and community education.
