EDENORTE upgrades electric grid in Loma de La Piña, Samaná with $4.7M investment

The Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad del Norte (EDENORTE) completed a modernization project for the electric distribution network in the Loma de La Piña community of Samaná Province, Dominican Republic. The investment totaled RD$4,734,826.95 and directly benefited 89 customers.

Key upgrades include the installation of four new transformers, 33 utility poles, and approximately 1,600 metres of medium‑voltage cable. The works also involved rehabilitating existing lines along the main street, the area around the water‑tank supply, and other distribution branches. EDENORTE said the new infrastructure will improve service quality, stability and reliability, reduce technical losses and lay the groundwork for future service expansions in the region.
