Edenred UAE Gains In‑Principle Approval for Stored Value Facility License
Edenred UAE, a subsidiary of the global Edenred Group and a long‑standing payroll‑solutions provider in the United Arab Emirates, announced that it has received in‑principle approval from the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) for a Stored Value Facility (SVF) licence. Over its 18‑year presence the company now serves more than 20,000 businesses and over 2.5 million employees across construction, retail, hospitality, logistics and other sectors, many of whom rely on salary cards as their primary financial account.
The in‑principle approval is an intermediate step in the CBUAE licensing process, covering governance, compliance, cybersecurity and operational controls. Edenred UAE will now work to satisfy the remaining requirements before a full SVF licence is granted. The milestone is presented as a continuity of service rather than a change, reinforcing the firm’s role in promoting financial inclusion for a largely unbanked workforce. Claudio Di Zanni, Managing Director for Edenred Middle East, said the approval “strengthens the trust our clients place in us to deliver safe, on‑time payroll and underscores our commitment to completing the licensing process and advancing financial inclusion across the region.”
